It was erected thanks to the fact that on its site a chaplain was saved from a tree that had a picture of St. Thekla. Let us start the walk at the Gasthof Drachenwand in St. Lorenz, and follow the trail to Drachenwand or Almkogel. Right at the beginning of the path, we can see the plague from the path, in the garden of the House of St. Lorenz No. 126 (Emhofer family). The boy, who was to bring the plague from Bavaria to the moon's land in 1714, was buried under the stone. Going up the path, you first reach the mountain forest, and a few minutes later the Thekla chapel. The chapel stands on a small plain in the middle of the forest next to the Klausbach. In a thunderstorm the Klause broke, and the Klausenwart was able to save himself at the last minute on a tree in which a picture of Sts. Thekla. In 1864 the Theklakapelle was erected as a thank-you for salvation. Only a few years ago the wooden altar, one of the few examples of Neo-Gothic in the Mondseeland, has been restored. Back we can take the direct path leading from the chapel to the road towards the lake. This is how we pass the "Little Thekla", a picture gallery below the Thekla.
