Due to intense plankton appearance it is getting dark immediately. Please do not forget lamps. At the southwestern waterside between Plomberg and Scharfling some great diving spots can be found. The Mondsee is known as the warmest lake in the alps. Therefore vegetation grows near the banks and is a habitat for loads of fish like pike and zander.

Since 2011 the ancient pile dwellings found in the Mondsee are UNESCO world heritage. Please respect that diving is absolutely forbidden at the archeological sites.
