Now that the funding from the municipality and the EU Leader Programme has been clarified, implementation can finally begin in spring 2014. 

The new cultural signposting system will guide interested visitors and locals to the 20 most important sights in Mondsee. Overview boards with the most important historical facts will be attached to the buildings and facilities. In addition, historical, economic and cultural developments are clearly presented at 12 prominent points in the town.

Entry points to the cultural trail are the free car and bus parks in Mondsee. Large maps of the town are displayed there, indicating the location and, of course, the suggested route.

A special feature is that all boards are equipped with so-called QR codes. If a QR code is photographed with a smartphone, the interested party is redirected to a website where additional and detailed information on a place of interest can be called up. To avoid high fees for foreign guests, the tourism association installed free, almost nationwide wireless internet more than a year ago. Non-German-speaking guests also have the opportunity to obtain detailed information about the individual sights in English on the Internet.
