Where can I park near the Drachenwand via ferrata?

There is a separate parking lot for hikers/climbers at Gasthof Drachenwand (note: not the parking lot for guests of the inn), the recommended retail price at the Bio-Park ticket machine is € 3.00 per day - please be honest when buying a ticket.

Can I hire equipment for the Drachenwand via ferrata?

Currently, there is unfortunately no rental service available in Mondsee.

Is there a guide I can book for the via ferrata?

Yes, a guide can be booked for the ascent and descent of the via ferrata Drachenwand via the company “Outdoor Leadership”.

What do you need to know?

After an approx. 20-minute approach, you reach the start of the via ferrata. You should allow approx. 2 hours for the ascent. The way back is via alpine trail no. 12a (Hirschsteig).
Caution: Do not underestimate this climb! Once you have reached the summit of the Drachenwand, the tour is not over yet! Only when you have also mastered the sometimes very difficult descent via the Hirschsteig!

The via ferrata is very demanding and only suitable for experienced climbers! Please pay attention to important instructions and possible barriers!
