Local taxes
The local tax or overnight stay tax is a levy regulated by the Upper Austrian Tourism Act and must be paid by guests per night in an accommodation. The accommodation provider collects this tax on behalf of the respective municipality.
Amount of the local tax:
Tiefgraben, St. Lorenz, Innerschwand, Zell am Moos, Oberhofen and Oberwang: €3.10
Mondsee: currently €2.40
Room or pitch prices are subject to the statutory local tax, which is charged per person and per night.
Local tax for children and adolescents:
All children and adolescents up to 15 years of age are exempt, provided they do not turn 16 during the year of their stay.
For the year 2026:
All children born in 2011 or later are exempt from the local tax. Children born in 2010 or earlier are subject to the tax as stated above.
