The "Goldhauben" exists since the 19th century in Mondsee. After the Second World War, the 1200th anniversary of the Second World War was once again the occasion for Mondsee's citizens to show themselves in Goldhauben-Festtracht and in 1949 the Goldhaubengruppe Mondsee was founded. Mondsee is therefore one of the oldest and largest groups in the district.
Already in 1952 and also 1981 there were costumes. This was followed by gold cup-stud courses for the production of gold and bead caps, butchering bags, monastic work and pearl bag crochet and knitting courses.
Some exhibitions are also highlighted: 1975 "Bürgerliche Festtracht - Old and New Gold Bonnets in the Mondseeland" 1981 The "Goldhauben- and Alttrachtenschau" as a supporting program for the 1st OÖ. Country exhibition in Mondsee 1996 "Volkskultur im Mondseeland - Old and New Monastic Works" as a supporting program for the 2nd OÖ. Country exhibition in Mondsee
In 1979, there were already 144 members and the 30-year-old stock of the Goldhaubengruppe was celebrated in conjunction with the 3rd district Goldhaubentreffen in Mondsee with approx. 10,000 spectators. In addition there were Christmas exhibitions, Easter markets, Trachtsonntag with weather candle blessing, "Colorful evenings" in carnival, bargain markets as well as on the first Advent weekend the popular Rorate breakfast in the Mönchsküche in Schloss Mondsee. The proceeds of these events always benefit a charitable, pastoral or cultural purpose.
Regular club nights, one year's excursion, one May night, one Advent celebration etc. contribute to the cohesion of our community.
