With the project “Discover and understand Irrseemoor”, a cultural asset was preserved and the importance of moors, nature reserves, biodiversity and the original cultivation methods used by local farmers was demonstrated. A newly designed and upgraded wooden barn serves as the info point, which links nature and culture protection elements and serves as a place of power for visitors. Here you can observe the world of birds and plants with a telescope. Display and information boards provide appropriate explanations and also convey knowledge for children in an entertaining way. This topic was also incorporated into the design of the playground in the middle of the village of Oberhofen am Irrsee in the area of the school. In order to encourage the children's natural urge to move around during the breaks and in their free time, part of the former “old sports field” was converted into a lively community garden with reference to the Irrseemoor in connection with the existing playground. Since then, play stations have been used to impart knowledge, secure and develop habitats for protected species around the Irrseemoor, which round off the newly created offer.
