Mondsee pile dwellings are a UNESCO World Heritage Site

On Friday 24 June 2011, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee declared 111 pile-dwelling sites around the Alps a World Heritage Site.

Underwater archaeological investigations by the Pile Dwelling Board of Trustees successfully completed

In April 2013, two UNESCO World Heritage Sites were explored for the Upper Austrian pile dwellings under the leadership of Site Manager Henrik Pohl.

Pile-dwelling pavilions opened as part of the first World Heritage Festival on Lake Attersee and Lake Mondsee

The pile-dwelling pavilions in the three World Heritage communities of Seewalchen, Attersee and Mondsee were opened as part of the first World Heritage Festival.
