Metal Tells a Story — One-of-a-Kind Pieces by Siegfried Rabanser

“Metal Tells a Story” – When Metal Becomes Living Art

Mondsee. Metal can seem hard, cold, and unyielding. Artist and trained metalworker Siegfried Rabanser demonstrates that something entirely different can emerge from it: expressive, one-of-a-kind pieces that bring people, relationships, and emotions to life. From November 6 to 8, 2026, Rabanser will present his current works at the Schlossgalerie Mondsee.

Under the title “Metal Tells a Story,” the artist combines craftsmanship with a free and experimental approach. His works emerge from a clear idea that is further developed through the artistic process. Forms, structures, and materials are deliberately altered and combined until a unique work of art is created.
“For me, an idea is the starting point. As I work, I develop it further, alter forms and materials, and incorporate new ideas. This is how each work takes on its own character.”

His figurative works, in particular, explore the human experience—encounters, relationships, and emotions. In doing so, Rabanser deliberately gives the viewer space for their own thoughts and personal interpretations.

As a trained metalworker, he combines traditional craftsmanship with various design techniques. Metal, aluminum, paint, and diverse textures come together to form expressive compositions.

“Metal Tells a Story” stands for art that is not merely meant to be viewed, but that inspires the viewer to develop their own thoughts and stories.
