Arrival:
The best way to reach the Cumberland Wildpark is by train and bus or by the beautiful Almuferweg "Genuss am Almfluss".
By train: Next Intercity stop Wels Hbf (ÖBB and Westbahn), change to the regional trains in the direction of Grünau in the Almtal "Almtalbahn" (ÖBB) by bus: Bus 533/535 Gmunden - Grünau - Almsee, stop Almtal Naturtierpark
Or just leave your car at the parking lot at the station in Grünau and use the bus, or the hiking trail.
Traunstein Taxi: The Tourist board Traunsee-Almtal offers the Route 60 from the railway station Grünau to the lake Almsee, if the bus serivice ist not available.
by car: Motorway A1 Westautobahn Wien <> Salzburg Exit 207 Exit Vorchdorf at the roundabout - direction Pettenbach, approx. 12 km, motorway A9 Pyhrnautobahn Passau <> Graz Exit 5 Exit Ried im Traunkreis - direction Voitsdorf - Pettenbach, approx the B 120 to Scharnstein, there turn onto the main road to Grünau im Almtal and follow the road to Grünau im Almtal. Take advantage of the offer from the bus and Traunstein taxi from Grünau im Almtal station.
You can also drive back to the game park and park your car there.
Winter opening hours will apply again from 1 November!

As always in the winter months, our ‘Wildparkstüberl’ will be closed on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 4 November. But it will be open on ALL weekends, public holidays and during the Christmas and semester holidays.

On the Westbahn line 101 from Salzburg, Linz or Vienna or on the Passauer Bahn line 150 from Passau (Nuremberg) to Wels Hbf (ÖBB, Westbahn and DB),
change to the regional trains in the direction of Grünau im Almtal ‘Almtalbahn’ line 153 (ÖBB) to Grünau im Almtal station.
by bus:
Bus route 533 Gmunden - Grünau im Almtal railway station - Almsee, change to route 534 (some routes in summer go directly to Almsee)

Or simply leave your car in the car park at the train station in Grünau and take the bus or the ‘Genuss am Almfluss’ hiking trail (approx. 6 km from the village to the wildlife park).
Salzkammergut Shuttle Service:
The Traunsee-Almtal Tourist Association offers this micro public transport service on route 60 from Grünau railway station to the Almsee when the OÖVV bus is not running.
Please call the taxi centre at least 1 hour in advance on 050-422 422 or order on the otaxi app.
